Sonnets is designed around a simple principle: your diary is for you, and nobody else. This Privacy Policy explains how Sonnets handles your information, which is to say, the app does not collect, transmit, or store any of it outside your own device. By using Sonnets, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Data Not Collected
Sonnets does not collect or share your data with us or third parties. Your diary entries and photos stay on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Sonnets does not collect personal data. The app does not require an account, sign-in, email address, or any other identifying information. We do not collect device identifiers, usage statistics, crash reports, or analytics of any kind.
2. Photo Library Access
Sonnets requests permission to read photos from your library so you can attach a single image to each day in your diary. It also requests permission to save photos back to your library when you choose to export an entry. All photo processing happens entirely on your device. We do not upload your photos to any server or transmit them to any third party.
3. Data Storage
All of your diary entries, attached photographs, and metadata are stored locally on your device. Sonnets does not operate any server or database of its own, and the app does not transmit your diary contents to any service we control. Your data leaves Sonnets only when you choose to share or export an entry through standard iOS features.
4. Third-Party Services
Sonnets does not integrate with any analytics platform, advertising network, crash reporter, or tracking SDK. The app does not make network requests to any external service other than Apple's standard iOS system services. Your activity inside Sonnets is not observed, recorded, or shared in any form.
5. Data Security
Because Sonnets stores all data locally, the security of your diary depends on your device's built-in protections, including iOS sandboxing, device passcode, and Face ID or Touch ID. We recommend keeping your iOS up to date and enabling device-level authentication for the strongest protection.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page. Because Sonnets does not collect any data or send any notifications, we cannot proactively notify you of changes. Please check back periodically if you want to stay informed.
