Application Privacy

Last updated: May 24, 2026

Exifmark values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Exifmark handles your information when you use the app to overlay EXIF metadata on your photos. Exifmark itself does not collect or store any of your personal data. The free version integrates Google AdMob to display advertisements, and AdMob has its own data practices described below. The app offers an optional one-time Pro purchase, processed by Apple. By using this app, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

Limited Data Collection

Exifmark itself does not collect or store your data. Your photos and EXIF data stay on your device. The free version shows ads via Google AdMob, which has its own data practices.

1. Information We Collect

Exifmark does not collect personal data. The app does not require an account, sign-in, email address, or any other identifying information. We do not run our own analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting. The only third-party SDK integrated into Exifmark is Google AdMob (for advertising on the free tier), described separately below.

2. Photo Library Access

Exifmark requests permission to read photos from your library so you can select images to overlay with EXIF metadata. It also requests permission to save edited photos back to your library. All image processing happens entirely on your device. We do not upload your photos to any server or transmit them to any third party.

3. In-App Purchases

Exifmark offers an optional one-time Pro purchase that removes advertising and unlocks Pro features. All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We do not collect, see, or store your payment information such as credit card numbers or billing details. We only receive a purchase confirmation and a transaction identifier used to verify your Pro entitlement on your device. For payment inquiries, refunds, or billing disputes, please contact Apple directly through their support channels.

4. Advertising

On the free tier, Exifmark displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob collects and processes information independently as described in Google's Privacy Policy, including advertising identifiers, IP address, device information, and app usage data used for ad delivery and measurement. Google AdMob may use cookies, mobile identifiers, and similar technologies for these purposes. CatBrains does not have direct access to this data. Pro users do not see advertisements.

5. Data Security

All image processing and EXIF metadata handling happens locally on your device. We do not operate any server or database that stores your photos or EXIF data. The security of content stored on your device depends on iOS's built-in protections (sandboxing, device passcode, Face ID / Touch ID).

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can limit or reset your advertising identifier through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and through Apple Advertising. For information collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how to access, modify, or delete such data. To remove advertising entirely, you may also upgrade to the one-time Pro purchase.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page. Because Exifmark does not collect any data, we cannot proactively notify you of changes. Please check back periodically if you want to stay informed.
